COMPRESSOR REPLACEMENT

Our Energy client at their Terre Haute, IN facility, needed to replace their existing plant air compressors and dryers without shutting down the existing plant air system.

The mechanical portion of the project was to install two new compressors along with two new dryers. New compressors would tie-in with new fittings and valves that would allow the new compressors to be installed and put into service at a future date without shutting down the plant air system.

Structurally two new concrete pads were designed for the installation of the new compressors, along with miscellaneous pipe supports for new piping.

New electrical power wiring was required for each of the new 250 HP compressors. Electrical power was provided from spares located within two existing separate MCC’s. Electrical power was routed to the new compressors within existing cable tray. Conduit was utilized around the building perimeter to the actual compressor cabinets outside. Communication cables were provided for communication between new compressors and the existing plant control system.

Dynamic Engineering Design provided the mechanical, structural, and electrical design drawings, material specifications, and installation specifications.
