PLANT LIGHTING UPDATE

Our aerospace client in Indianapolis, IN needed to lower energy cost at its facilities by replacing existing plant lighting with new energy efficient lighting and occupancy sensors.

Dynamic Engineering Design provided scope drawings for associated areas and buildings. Scope drawings identified number of fixtures to replace in each room or area, type of fixture to use, and type of occupancy sensor to be used. It was assumed that light fixtures would be replaced on a one for one basis or at a fixture density determined by client. A bid package was prepared that included scope of work, drawings, bidders list, and material specifications for purchasing. A pre-bid meeting and walk-thru was conducted to answer bidding contractor’s questions and issue addendums as required.

In addition, Construction management was included to provide answers to contractor questions, monitor contractor quality, maintain schedule, and confirm contractor completion. Government tax rebate forms were submitted upon completion for the client to receive energy credits.
